Great Commission Day

WHY THIS MATTERED
This wasn’t a recap. It was the emotional center of a major donor campaign—and it had one week to come together. If it missed, the moment passed.
WHAT WASN’T WORKING
The footage was honest and passionate—but scattered. Five interviews. Fifteen hours of B-roll. No clear narrative spine. The story was there. It just hadn’t revealed itself yet.
WHAT I DID
I started by lowering the temperature. 'This will work. I’ve done it before.' That wasn’t reassurance—it was truth.
From there, I took full ownership: Structure, Pacing, Music, Emotional arc.
I listened until one line changed everything: 'Why did it take people so long to tell me this?' That became the heartbeat.
The entire film was built around that moment—rising toward it, holding space, then falling into silence before the final ask.
WHAT CHANGED
The first cut was delivered in one day. It was nearly finished. Revisions were fast, clear, and collaborative. The final piece moved donors without pushing—and gave the team confidence to build future work together.
"I was hesitant to outsource something this big, but Max made it painless."
